In, Paris, we arranged a dinner in a home, through Vizeats. Loly welcomed us to her cute apartment in the Latin Quarter. She was a great match as she cooks gluten free and vegan! From start to finish, we were served delicious, filling foods that were eye appealing as well as tasty. After appetizers, we enjoyed an avocado based soup (see pic) followed with a wonderful pilaf of French long grain rice and French baby lentils (who knew that grew rice and lentils in France!), BBQ fried tofu, and mixed vegetables-squash, olives, onion and spices. Dessert was a deep chocolate brownie with faux whipped cream (couldn't tell there was no milk base). Our beverage was the hibiscus tea that we had discovered in Mexico! They drink it here, also!
The best part of the meal was getting to know Loly! What a wonderful, outgoing, generous, entertaining woman! The time flew by with lots of discussion on food, but even more, we got the chance to really get to "know" someone in France.
Loly is leaving for an extended visit to Australia and Thailand to learn more food techniques. We wish her a safe trip and the best experiences!
